Sunday at the Dog Show
Lots of freestyle for us today, with a little conformation watching. We were really impressed by the Houston group. Oh we also found some interesting characters in Meet the Breeds (Doberman version)

Tired Last Night, but Ready to Go Today!
We were really tired after yesterday's busy day. But ready to go this morning. Agility and flyball have already started. They are right next to each other, with a wall between. See on the picture? Agility on the left and flyball on the right.
Our freestyle ring is ready to go too!

Saturday At the Houston Dog Show
We did less today, but we still seemed to be busy all the time!! Fells did two freestyle demos with the Houston group and Colin did a Meet the Breeds presentation. He accepted petting and treats during the Border Terrier presentation. It's a hard life, but he struggled though!
Here's Colin at Meet the Breeds
And here are some of the Houston Freestylers doing their thing! They were great!!
Note from Donna: The original plan was for Colin and Fells to take turns during Meet The Breeds and each take a turn doing a freestyle routine today. Instead we found out that Fells was not a good Meet the Breeds dog.
The whole setup of many people going all over the place with bags and other things that could contain food, plus other dogs including Border Terrier girls on the table next to us, and the noise and chaos just whipped Fells up into a frenzy of wanting to check out everything and unable to concentrate on anything. I was forced to choose whether to concentrate on him or onto the people that we were supposed to talk to. That wasn't good.
Colin, on the other hand, was calm, relaxed and happy and willing to interact with all the people, adults and children, that passed by. He didn't try to go anywhere other than where he was supposed to be. He was a terrific representative of his breed.
So Colin did most of the meeting and greeting and ate a lot of food as he did simple tricks for the children and their parents and for me. After that, it was better to just let Colin rest for the remainder of the day and let Mr Energy, Fells, do the second freestyle demo as well as the first.

Friday at the Houston Dog Shows
Had a great time at the Houston Dog Shows!
Fells got to do flyball with a Texas team. We're so happy that they let us run with them! Thanks Barkworthy!
And we watched the Border Terriers doing conformation, and many dogs doing agility and obedience.
We visited vendors and bought things. Plus, of course, we did what we came for and Colin did freestyle! Thanks Bridget Spence for taking and emailing us the picture!

Morning in Baton Rouge
This morning in Baton Rouge we got a Louisian breakfast and then a walk in the park. Donna had boudin for the first time and liked it! She promised to save a bit for us next time.
We loved the dawn walk while it was cool!

Monday in Greenville, SC
We spent Monday in Greenville, SC. We met our Aunt Cathy there and she took us to visit the area. First we walked in the city park.
They have a really interesting airplane in the middle of the park
We walked on some scary bridges. Here's a picture of us with Aunt Cathy on the highest one. This one didn't scare us though, even though it was high. The scary ones you could see right through under your paws to the ground. Some people said that we were brave, because their dogs wouldn't do them, but I was scared (Fells).
They weren't that bad. You just had to walk carefully. Once Fells saw me do them, he got up his courage and followed (Colin).
It was hot out! Luckily though there were places where we could cool our toes!
We rested in the middle of the day because it was so hot. Then we went to Paris Mountain to do some hiking. It was fun!!! We hiked up and down the trails for hours. We also checked out the water there, too.

To Bed after a Long Day!
Well this morning we left Maryland, drove through Virginia, drove through North Carolina, and into South Carolina. Now we're finally stopped at a Red Roof Inn in Greenville, SC. We even had to drive through Greenville for a while!
All we saw all day were our crates and some rest stops and gas stations!
Here's Fells checking out the dog rest area. (He just saw another dog)
And here's Colin checking out the people rest area.
We hear that tomorrow we will be doing some walking in the park and visiting with our Aunt Cathy! That will be fun!

Friday -- Grooming Session!
Fells here! Colin might be looking okay, but I'm a scruffy dog. With my thick undercoat, I've been getting hot in the Maryland summer weather. The Texas weather is likely going to be much worse. So I went to our friend Mary Ellen to see if I could get the scruff off.
I didn't like it much! But I did survive.
Now I look like this:

Getting Ready for our Trip to Houston, Texas
Fells has won a paid vacation to the Houston Dog Shows in Houston, TX, He's going to do freestyle in front of a lot of people. We've been practicing our routines and Fells has almost stopped getting distracted when our "audience" claps and cheers him. Now we're doing our final preparations.
Colin is groomed well enough and ready to go!
